A Continuous Journey of Discovery and Growth

My life experiences—from my early days immersed in music and art to my professional achievements and personal challenges—have shaped my approach to leadership, work, and business growth.

I believe in leading with creativity and empathy, working with passion and strategic insight, and driving business growth through innovation and a deep connection with customers.

“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”
– Albert Einstein

Curiosity is one of my superpowers.

I used to think everyone was curious. And maybe as children we are.

But somewhere along the way, most people simply stop being curious.

Not me.

As a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (FCMO) for life sciences companies, I don’t pretend to have all the answers.

What I do have is an insatiable drive to ask the right questions, uncover hidden opportunities, and connect the dots between science, business, creative, and the people you serve.

Life sciences companies don’t hire me because I’m flashy or because I follow the latest marketing trends.

They hire me because I see marketing as a system—a complex problem to solve.

Like you, I thrive in complexity.

I don’t shy away from it.

I dig in.

My Philosophy

I have a simple motto: Get smart stuff done quickly.

That means:

  • No overcomplicating.
  • No “let’s circle back in six weeks.”
  • Get creative at speed, and get results.

Just don’t confuse speed with carelessness.

Everything I do is grounded in data, strategy, and human connection.

Because marketing isn’t about gimmicks. It’s about building trust and delivering value.

Why Life Sciences Marketing?

Life sciences are where science helps humanity.

Your work is about solving real, tangible problems that affect people’s lives.

It’s about innovation, precision, and making the impossible possible.

That’s why I’m here.

I don’t market products; I help you translate your brilliance into something your audience understands, trusts, values—and buys.

Whether you’re a startup trying to break into the U.S. market, a company launching a revolutionary device, or a team scaling for growth, I understand the nuances of your challenges.

I’ve been there.

And I’ve helped companies like yours succeed.

The Journey to Here

My path wasn’t linear.

I grew up in Vermont, raised in an ecosystem inspired by two strong grandfathers who couldn’t have been more different: one was a world-class conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, and the other a New England mason.

From one, I learned creativity, vision, and the magic of orchestrating something larger than yourself. From the other, I learned craftsmanship, discipline, and the value of rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

I didn’t follow the standard “get a degree, get a good job, etc etc etc” game plan.

I went a different route, building a foundation based on solving tough problems and shrugging off the normal.

This foundation carried me through a career that began in pharma consulting and evolved into leadership roles in medical devices, biotech, and beyond.

Along the way, I became a father, launched MESH, and built a reputation for turning big, messy problems into actionable strategies and beneficial outcomes.

Again, it’s always been about the curious.

Curiosity Meets Strategy

Curiosity drives everything I do.

I’ve spent over two decades learning anything and everything I can about digital marketing, branding, and customer engagement.

Not just the trends, but the psychology—the “why” behind what works.

From earning an eMBA mid-pandemic to completing a Certificate in Disruptive Innovation at Harvard Business School, I’ve been obsessed with understanding how to solve complex problems.

And that’s exactly what marketing is.

Here’s how I do it:

  1. Ask Better Questions. Instead of focusing on what’s easy, I focus on what matters. You’ve heard of the five why’s? Let’s go deeper and get to what matters.
  2. Turn Complexity into Clarity. Your science is brilliant, but if people don’t understand it or really appreciate the value of it, it’s just noise. I craft messaging that makes even the most intricate ideas accessible and engaging.
  3. Build Systems that Work. Marketing isn’t a one-off campaign. It’s a system. From storytelling to demand generation, I design strategies that are scalable, measurable, and built to grow with you. And I’ll teach you how they work so you don’t need me anymore.

What I Value

  • Human Connection. At the end of the day, marketing isn’t about algorithms or platforms. It’s about people. That’s where I focus.
  • Precision. Just like your science, marketing should be precise. It’s not about guessing—it’s about testing, measuring, and iterating until you get it right.
  • Authenticity. People don’t connect with perfection; they connect with real stories, real value, and real solutions.
  • Continuous Learning. The moment you think you know everything, you’ve lost. That’s why I’m always learning—whether it’s from a podcast, a Harvard lecture, or a mistake I made yesterday.

A Few Lessons I’ve Learned Along the Way

I grew up on ‘70s rock, Marvel comics, and classic Nintendo games.

You can learn almost everything you need to know about this Gen-Xer by the comics I read growing up:

Iron Man taught me that problems are solvable with grit and intelligence.

Spider-Man showed me the power of being kind, even when life throws you curveballs.

And Wolverine? Well, sometimes you just have to be scrappy and unstoppable.

That’s how I approach life—and how I’ll approach your challenges—because it’s never been easy, yet I’ve always persisted.

I’ve made mistakes.

Big mistakes.

And plenty of them.

Some, but certainly not all came from dealing with ADHD. Yet managing it has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of thinking differently.

I’ve learned that every setback is an opportunity to ask, “What now?”

I’ve also learned that you can’t solve every problem alone.

Like many have said before me, we all stand on the shoulders of giants.

For me, that means leaning on a talented team, drawing from decades of experience, and collaborating with clients who are just as curious and driven as I am.

Let’s peel back the onion a bit:

I’m Curious.

I’ve spent over 20 years studying what makes people tick.

From earning an eMBA mid-pandemic to completing a Certificate in Disruptive Innovation from Harvard Business School, I never stop learning.

I’ve studied the world’s best copywriters, mastered frameworks like Jobs-to-Be-Done, and obsessively tracked how audiences engage.

I’m Practical.

Life sciences marketing isn’t a sandbox. It’s a pressure cooker.

You need results—fast, measurable, and aligned with your goals.

That’s why I focus on strategies that work in your world.

I’m Human.

Your buyers are real people.

And they don’t connect with specs, features, or acronyms. They connect with stories.

I help you tell those stories in a way that builds trust and drives action.

Why This Matters to You

You’ve got big problems to solve.

Breaking into a new market. Building trust with skeptical buyers. Turning complex science into something people care about.

That’s where I shine.

I’ll help you figure out what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next.

Together, we’ll build something real. Something that grows.

Because when curiosity meets strategy, anything is possible.

Outside the Office

When I’m not helping life sciences companies solve marketing challenges, you’ll find me:

  • Raising four amazing kids.
  • Building things out of wood (and occasionally messing them up).
  • Noodling on my guitars or blasting ‘70s rock and ‘80s metal.
  • Rewatching Empire Strikes Back and remembering why Darth Vader is one of the greatest arcs of all time.

Why Work with Me?

Because I know what it’s like to solve problems that don’t have easy answers.

I’ve found that life sciences professionals are natural problem-solvers.

So am I.

I take a systems-thinking approach to marketing—identifying the root cause of challenges and finding solutions that align with your business goals.

But I make it human.

Your buyers are people.

They don’t just want specs and features; they want to know why your product matters.

I help you tell that story in a way that resonates, builds trust, and drives results.

Ready to Take the World by Storm?

I know you’ve got challenges that might feel overwhelming.

That’s what I’m here for.

Together, we’ll ask the hard questions, build a clear strategy, and create something that doesn’t just work—it resonates.

If you’re ready to grow, let’s talk. Because curiosity, creativity, and strategy are how we’ll take your brand to the next level.
