Of all the channels, it often feels like email is one of the most mature, and innovation can feel far away. And really, what’s the incentive to innovate? What if you fail? Waste money? Alienate your audience? Worse yet—trigger a blacklisting? Often marketing excludes their technical counterparts from the email marketing process, when exactly the opposite should be happening. The next time you’re looking for ways to innovate, look at the data, look at the tools, and technical requirements of email. And look to your technical partners to help spur innovation. —B
